Mountain Madness Pakistan is one of the most specialized treks in Pakistan includes Rush Phari Trek in the Karakoram. Rash Phari means sparkling Lake. It is one of the most recommended treks for those who want to have a first time trekking experience with a life long excitement. We walk on glaciers, through villages to a look at the real life of those living at footsteps of mighty glaciers, along the irrigated terraced fields with the impressive view of the mighty Karakoram Mountains from the summit of Rush Peak (5,098m). It is the junction of two famous glaciers of Barpu and Bualter. During this trek, you will cross glaciers, high meadows, and lovely irrigated terraced fields and also have the spectacular view of the mighty Karakoram Mountains from Rush Lake. The trip begins in Islamabad from where we will proceed towards Hunza. The first sight of the towering Rakaposhi (7788 m.) takes one’s breath away. The views get better and better as we approach Karimabad; the capital of this unbelievable beautiful valley. If there is Shangri-La on earth, then this must be it! Our short trek starts across the valley and the Hunza River at a place called Hoper.
Rush Phari, meaning “sparkling lake”, is simply a splendid sight to behold. This is the best trekking route for beginners and novices, but equally interesting for experienced trekkers as one can climb Rush Peak (5098 m/16,824 ft) above the lake.
Starting from Hopar, a marvellous village known for fruit orchards and the production of potato seeds, we stroll through the terraced fields and experience some walking on glaciers as well. At the junction of Barpu and Bualter glaciers, our destination is rewarded with a superb view of Rush Peak. It is interesting that local legends talk about the gender of these glaciers as being male and female and also about their meeting and giving birth to new glaciers.
